How to fill in your rate card

  • Say what the base price includes. "Blouse: hooks, plain round neck, short sleeves, no lining." Everything else is an extra with its own price, so the counter never gives it away.
  • Price the extras separately. Lining, padding, piping, neck and sleeve designs and latkans are each extra work for the karigar.
  • Put urgent work on the card. A simple scheme: express in 3 to 4 days at about half the price again, next day at double.
  • Say whether GST is included. Edit the note at the bottom to "Prices include GST" or "GST extra at 5%", or remove it if you are not registered.
  • Review it twice a year, before the festive season and before the wedding season.

Not sure what to charge? How to set stitching charges shows how to work out what a garment costs you, what shops publish for blouses, suits and shirts in 2026, and typical prices for extras. Once the prices are set, use the bill maker to bill an order.

Prices that fill themselves in

In Tailoring App you set a price for each garment and each extra once. When a customer books, the price fills in, you add the extras she asked for, and the bill can be shared on WhatsApp. Karigars see the job and the dates, never the price.
