Most tailoring shops still run on a bill book, a measurement register and the owner's memory. That works until the festive rush, when a slip goes missing, a trial date is forgotten or a karigar stitches from last year's measurements. A tailor app keeps all of it in one place, on the counter computer and on every phone in the shop.

Tailoring App is built for Indian tailors, darzi shops and ladies tailors: blouses, suits, kurtis, lehengas, shirts, pants and sherwanis, with karigars, advances and trial dates.

What the app does

Measurements, saved for every customer. Take a blouse, suit or shirt measurement once and it is there for the next order, with the date and any photos. When a customer comes back after a year, you can see what changed since last time. No more searching through a register or asking her to stand for the tape again.

Orders from booking to delivery. Book an order at the counter with the garments, the cloth, the price, the advance and the trial and delivery dates. Each order moves through your own stages, such as cutting, stitching, embroidery and finishing, and every move is saved on the order.

One board for the whole shop. The floor board shows what is in cutting, what is being stitched, what is ready and what has nobody working on it. Trials due today and late orders stand out, so nothing slips through in the rush.

Karigars see the job, not the customer. Give a job to a karigar in one tap. On their phone they see the garment, the measurements, the dates and your notes, but never the customer's name, phone number or price. Your customers stay with your shop.

Advances, balances and bills. Record the advance at booking and each payment after it. The app shows who still owes how much. Order slips, receipts and bills, including GST tax invoices and bills of supply, can be shared as a PDF on WhatsApp. Bills are in beta, and each shop switches them on when it is ready.

Hindi and English. Orders, customers, measurements and the karigar work screens are available in Hindi as well as English. Each person picks their own language.

Your data stays in India. Everything is kept on our server in India, never sold and never used for ads.

  3. Add your garments and prices, such as blouse, lined blouse, suit and kurti, with extras like lining, padding and piping.
  4. Book this week's orders. Add the customer, take the measurements, record the advance and set the trial date.
  5. Add your karigars when you are ready, and give them their first jobs.

On the phone

The web app works in any phone's browser today, so karigars can open app.tailoringapp.com on the phone they already have. The Android and iPhone app is coming to the Play Store and the App Store. It keeps saving orders, measurements and photos when the network drops, and sends them when the signal is back.

Is it the right app for your shop?

Tailoring App is strongest when a shop has more than one person: a counter, an owner and karigars who need to know what to stitch next without seeing the customer's details. If you work alone and mostly need GST billing and fabric stock, another app may fit better. Our comparison of tailor apps in India covers Juvee, TailorMate, BoutiqueAI, Darzee and others on price, free plan and features, including where they do better than us.

If you are not ready for an app yet, start with the free tools: a bill maker, printable measurement forms and a rate list maker.

Questions

Can I save customer measurements in the app?
